Highly referential, but never pastiche, the sound world draws from IDM, mutant hardcore stylings, grime, 80s fantasy, and pulp cinema. ‘What the fuck?’ moments of full throttle breakbeat pressure are counter-poised with the liminal robot romanticism of heart-rendingly detuned electronica. Eschewing refinement and polish for raw sensibility, the 'Top Shelf Material EP' is emotive and propulsive, playful and tragic, wistful and optimistic. We couldn't recommend it more.
