Bass is the only played instrument. The songs sound sad, even though ‘sad’ has no real existence - it’s just a sensation produced by atoms ricocheting off each other mechanistically in an otherwise empty void. However this record has a natural tendency towards sad, and it’s worth recognising the significance of that. "
