There's been quite a lot of online chatter around the identity of the "well-known house producer" around this mysterious 7", with our shadowy hero encouraging debate by giving themselves the Who Did This? Alias. For the record, we don't know, but it certainly bears all the hallmarks of one or more well-known Detroit deep house artists who have been working since the 1990s. On the A-side, our publicity-shy hero offers up a jazzy, swinging and effortlessly warm take on what sounds like a Motor City neo-soul classic, reaching for crispy, deliciously swung drums, woozy chords, sultry vocals and heady horns. Over on the flip, we get a beatdown style mid-tempo deep house pass on another contemporary soul treat, this time with a retro-futurist feel.
