Mysticisms completes its archival releases of the Dub Specialists with a 3rd EP of the outer reaches of the Digi Dub realm, this time mainly drawing from the project’s final album Loop To Loop. Conscious Sounds head honcho Dougie Waldrop, working again with Chris Petter (Love Grocer) runs the desk, the heavy sample originals move from House to Breaks, Dub to Funk. For the final reversions, label co-owner and editing specialist Piers Harrison returns, turning Love Song in a long form 4/4 romantic digi bounce. A sure-fire winner, the catchy groove and trippy beats, the template of what makes Dub Specialists come alive. Following is Lotion Dub, edited by Vanity Project. A key part to the project, working with Millie Mckee, as well assisting Chuggy, his solid arrangements and engineering skills take the old school original, with digi horns, electro stabs and reggae “skanking” guitar, accentuating the drum and bass to effect. The final side of edits come from Chuggy, taking the steppers of Dub Downtown, teasing the drop, looping and riding the riddim and also, finally, from rising producer and label head of Spiritual World Recordings, N1 Sound who sticks to the true essence of re-editing, creating a DJ friendly excursion, extending and live dubbing the sought after 808 Dub from Dub Specialists debut Break To Break, thus bringing the whole project full circle and complete.
